Memories/Healthcare

Written and Revised by Ciji Ware

Verse: Healthcare...
It's so easy to lose you...
Or get hit with a co-pay,
Or a bill that's an Oy Vey...

And reforms are so very confusing at best
Snuffing grand-ma...
No or yes...?

Healthcare...
It's so easy to bankrupt
Business, industry, workers...
Or the entrepreneur...

We thought Pub-lic Options would solve all our woes
But then K-Street
said "Hell No!"
Bridge: Single Pay-er, Co-ops, Plan B
Choice, there's lots and lots...NOT!

Pharma, Blue Cross, Et-na, Cigna, Med-co,
Gee, the lobbyists call the shots!
Verse: Healthcare...
Will our citizens make it?
Will our premiums hold fast?
Or reforms end in smoke?

Why is Con-gress given the best Plan around?
While we sick ones
All go broke?
Bridge: Harvard Men and
Rad-cliffee Gals are
Always in the know...

Pharma, Blue Cross, Et-na, Cigna, Med-co
Always cost us so much dough!
Verse: Healthcare...
The Reforms are so tricky
And the bribes and the payoffs
Make a citizen glum...

And we thought that the public was ready for change
And a new day had begun...

APPLAUSE...
STAGE LIGHTS DOWN; SINGER EXITS
